Unable to unmount or delete local datastore on host

Issue/Introduction

VMFS unmount operation failed with error  [An Error occurred while unmounting the Local Datastore as  "Datastore is in use".]

Environment

VMware ESXi 8.0 .x

Cause

The cause for the issue is due to the opened  " lls-dirLock " File.

 

Resolution

Run the below commands to disable SwapToSSD via vsish :

# vsish -e set /memory/llswap/dirs/0/sizeInBytes 0
# vsish -e set /memory/llswap/dirs/0/remove

After running the above commands, try to unmount the Datastore.
