Alert Definition Ids '[AlertDefinition-ID]' not found In Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

When editing a notification rule in Aria Operations the following message is displayed:

Alert Definition Ids '[AlertDefinition-ID]' not found

As per the screenshot below:

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

This issue occurs when an existing notification rule references a deleted item such as an alert or an object in Aria Operations.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by following the steps below:

1. Take Aria operation cluster offline via administration interface.
2. When all Aria ops nodes show offline, create snapshots without memory. How to take a Snapshot of VMware Aria Operations
3. Bring the cluster online.
4. Try the steps from the KB Manually delete notification rules in Aria Operations
