Unable to add the VM to existing protection group

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• While trying to add the Virtual machine to the existing protection group, Virtual Machines are not getting added.
  
  
• No errors were reported while trying to add the Virtual machine. However, the added Virtual machines are not getting listed in the protection group.

Environment

VMware vSphere Replication
VMware Site Recovery 

Cause

The issue occurs if the Virtual machines are mistakenly getting added to the Protection group which is replicating VM's in the opposite direction.

Resolution

Add the Virtual machines to the correct Protection group that corresponds to its replication source.
