VIB/Plugin removed from ESXi host after patching using vLCM single images

Issue/Introduction

One of your VIBs was removed from a host after patching in single image mode.

Environment

VMware ESXi 7
VMware ESXi 8

Cause

 vLCM is designed to remove a VIB If it is not included in the vendor addon, or specifically specified in the components when remediating hosts.

Resolution

If the VIB is not included in the vendor addon being used, and does not appear in the components section, you must import the zip file to the vLCM components:

1. Click the hamburger menu



2. Lifecycle manager



3. Actions

4. Import updates



5. Select your .zip file and import.
6. Select the new component under Cluster/Host view > Updates > Image > Components
