Unhandled exception has occurred in your application when installing Express SCU 2025-1:

Error that is reported:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Could not find a part of the path
C:\ProgramData\Symantec\CSM-RA\CABInstall\CABInstallStates.xml

Cause

CCS was not installed in the default path, and when the Express SCU goes to write to a file at the default path, it fails because it does not exist.

Resolution

If you see this issue when installing the Express SCU 2025-1, and you do have CCS installed in a different location (like in E:\ drive), just click 'Continue' and the Express SCU will install all the required files correctly, and the error can be ignored as it is just trying to write a version to a file that is not required.

Make sure you still follow the manual steps to install the Express SCU 2025-1 that is in the README PDF in the zip file.

This will be addressed in a new version of a SCU so the error will not be displayed if CCS is not installed in the default location.
