We receive SpectroSERVER disconnection alarms between the MLS and other SS

Issue/Introduction

At random times for some SS we will see a connection alarm to the VNM.  It will clear a couple of minutes later and regenerate. 

When trying to create a Global Collection there is an error stating that communication to host <SS NAME> cannot be established or communication has been lost when in fact it has not.

Cause

Alias names in the etc/hosts causing name resolution mismatch.

Resolution

Remove all alias names in etc/hosts.

The etc/hosts for Spectrum should have the following format:

IP  ShortHostName  FQDN

Using an alias such as this causes resolution issues:

IP spectrumSS  spectrum100  spectrum100.broadcom.com

This would need to be changed to:

IP spectrum100  spectrum100.broadcom.com
