Issue/Introduction

There are several outcomes (looking at Assembler -> Resources -> Virtual Machines):

- The server is not visible at all in VMware Aria Automation.
- The server is visible in the wrong cluster.
- The server is visible, assigned on both clusters with incorrect state.

Environment

VMware Aria Automation 8.18.1

Cause

vMotion and SRM workload mobility conflict causes machines to not enumerate.

Resolution

This issue is planned to be fixed in VCF9 and VMware Aria Automation 8.18.1 Patch2.

Workaround: Temporary disable vMotion workload mobility.

  1. Replace FQDN with your VMware Aria Automation and use the below URL to get to the hidden configuration properties

    https://VRA_FQDN/automation/#/service/automation-ui/provisioning-ui;ash=%2FconfigurationProperties

  2. Add a new configuration property named "enable.vm.migration" (if already not available) and set its value to "false"

  3. Wait for the enumeration to complete. It may take more than 1 day before the machines are in sync.
