Site Recovery plugin missing from vCenter UI

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

vCenter UI reporting error as 'VMware Site Recovery Plugin Failed'.

Site Recovery icon will be missing from the vCenter UI Menu.


In vCenter UI, Menu > Administration > Plugins > VMware Site Recovery Plugin shows Status as 'Failed' and VMware certified in 'No' status.


Changing the VR certificate and reconfiguring the vSphere replication is getting an error in VC tasks as "Error downloading plugin-in URL is unreachable. No route to host(Host unreachable)"

 

Environment

VMware vCenter 8.x
VMware vSphere Replication 9.x
Site Recovery Manager 9.x

 

Cause

The issue is caused by an incorrect IP address configured for vSphere Replication in vCenter.

Resolution

Update the correct the vSphere Replication IP address on vCenter using below steps:

  • Log in to the vCenter via SSH.
  • Edit the /etc/hosts file : vi /etc/hosts
  • Update the correct the vSphere Replicatoin IP address entry in this file.
  • Save the file and exit the editor.

Reconfigure vSphere Replication. After reconfiguration, VMware Site Recovery plugin will deploy successfully.
