Issue/Introduction

When trying to Register a vCenter to an instance of Aria Operations, a prompt shows the following message:

This vCenter, (vCenter_Name), is already registered with another instance of VMware Aria Operations.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

This message appears when another instance of Aria Operations has the plugin registered to this vCenter.
Multiple Aria Operations instances can monitor the same vCenter by adding a vCenter Adapter Instance. However one vCenter can have the plugin registration of only one Aria Operations instance.

Resolution

Choose which instance of Aria Operations will have the plugin registered on this vCenter by answering the prompt:

• YES will register the plugin with this Aria Operations, and unregister the other instance.
• NO will keep the plugin registered with the other instance of Aria Operations.

Both Aria Operations instances will still monitor the same vCenter and gather its data.
