All custom groups permanently have an unknown status and Members Count is zero - Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

In the Operations -> Configurations-> Custom Groups page, we see 'Heath' is unknown/greyed out and 'Members Count' is zero for all the custom groups.

In dashboards we see no value for "total population"

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

Container adapter instance has collection status 'None'

Resolution

• Go to Inventory -> Custom groups -> Environment and click on the custom group object to open it .
• On the custom group object check the collection status , check if its None
  
• Go to Operations -> Configurations -> Inventory management page
• Now from the left pane click on Adapter instances -> Container adapter instance 
• On the right pane click on Start collecting button and make sure the status changes to collecting as shown below
• Once the adapter starts collecting the health of the groups and members count should be visible as expected.
