Configuring ESXi domain fails with error "The operation cannot be performed while the host is part of a windows domain"

Issue/Introduction

Configuring ESXi domain in default TCP/IP stack fails with error "The operation cannot be performed while the host is part of a windows domain"

Cause

ESXi is already in a domain and has not exited properly.

Resolution

Use following method to remove the ESXi from the domain, and re-configure domain in TCP/IP stack:

1. From vSphere Client, select the host that will be removed from the domain.
2. Click the Configure tab.
3. Click the Authentication Services.
4. Click the LEAVE DOMAIN button at the top right pane.
5. Re-configure domain in TCP/IP stack.
