Warning: Cannot find target datastore for disk null

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

After adding a new hard disk to a VM that is already configured with vSphere Replication, the target datastore is selected from a datastore cluster. However, after completing the reconfiguration task, a warning appears on the VM stating:
"Cannot find target datastore for disk 'null'."

 

Environment

vSphere Replication 

Cause

When adding or relocating a disk, the specification only defines the Datastore Cluster. On the secondary site, SDRS is invoked to select a datastore within the cluster. However, the selected datastore does not persist on the primary site.

Resolution

The issue is resolved in vSphere Replication 9.0.3 release
