Issue/Introduction

When running a report in Aria Operations 8.18.x, the metric for the Storage Policy assigned to a Virtual Machine is no longer updating properly. It appears the product is reporting incorrect data.
The metric path is VM > Properties > Virtual Disk > Storage Policy > Storage Policy in Use

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

If your virtual machine has been migrated off of vSAN storage to some other storage like PowerFlex, this metric will no longer collect as this is collected by the vSAN adapter in Aria Operations 8.18.x for VMs on vSAN only.

Resolution

The Storage Policy in Use metric will be collected by the vCenter adapter regardless of underlying storage in the next major release of the product.

Additional Information

As a workaround if you need Storage Policy data for reporting, you can try using tags and report on the collected tag metrics

Any other solution for this for Aria Operations 8.18.x, please work with your account team.
