Error: Fault occurred while performing health check. Details: 'Connect: Connection timed out'

  • Configuring VM using Legacy replication method works.
  • All required ports from DC ESXi host to DR ESXi host is enabled for enhanced replication to work.
  • Enhanced replication mapping tests will fail with Connection error between few DC and DR hosts.

  • Virtual machine with enhanced replication may report below error.
Error: No Connection to VR Server: Not responding

Environment

VMware vSphere Replication 9.x

Cause

vSphere replication traffic is not tagged on the vmkernel interface of the ESXi hosts.

Resolution

  • Enable vSphere Replication traffic on the correct VMkernel interface on all the ESXi hosts.
  • Steps to enable vSphere replication traffic on the VMkernel interface of the ESXi host. In the vCenter Inventory, click the vcenter_name >> Navigate to the Datacenter >> Cluster >> ESXi host >> Configure >> VMkernel adapters >> vmk (typically used for replication)

Workaround:

  • Migrate the VM to a host with vSphere replication traffic tagged.
