Error: "The operation is not allowed in the current state of the datastore" during the recovery plan when doing the planned migration.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The customer is executing the recovery plan using SRM. During the recovery plan at step 10, the customer receives the following error.
  "The operation is not allowed in the current state of the datastore." 

• The user notice the following from the UI.
  
  
  
  
• When the user checks the DR logs, they see the error message and also the datastore name on which the error is seen.

Environment

VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 8.6.x

Cause

• This issue happens because the placeholder datastore is in maintenance mode.

• In this state of the datastore (maintenance mode), the placeholder datastore cannot be used for storing VMs, and the recovery plan will fail with the error message, "The operation is not allowed in the current state of the datastore."

Resolution

• Exit the datastore out of the maintenance mode and then try running the recovery plan again. 
• If the issue still persist, please contact Broadcom Support.
