Install new ESXi failed as disk was part of vSAN

Issue/Introduction

Try to install the ESXi in boot device failed as :

Disk is claimed by VSAN and --overwritevsan was not set. Contact VMware support

Environment

vSphere 7.0

Cause

The boot device was part of vSAN . 

Resolution

1 If the boot devices is managing by hardware RAID card ,  destroy the virtual disk in BOIS , then re-create it .

2 Install the boot devices into others system , format disk in Windows server , dd the disk first 1M bytes in Linux server .

3 Boot up the system by third party OS ,  format the disk in Windows , or erase the disk first 1M bytes by dd in Linux.
