Notice that some closed alarms in Operator Console have clears associated with them, and others do not. What controls this?
Version: Any
Component: nas probe, Operator Console
There are a number of tables that relate to alarms in the UIM database, but the main ones are:
NAS_ALARMS -
This has information on the current active alarms.
NAS_TRANSACTION_LOG -
This has information on transaction history as it relates to a given alarm. These could be entries related to suppression, updates, clears, etc...
What is in the table is controlled by the following two settings in nas (example nas settings as a frame of reference):
In the above type 16 (suppression) would get cleaned up (removed) after three days of age, and the next image:
type 4 (clear), and all other types would be removed from the NAS_TRANSACTION_LOG table after 7 days of age.
NAS_TRANSACTION_SUMMARY -
This would have a summary of open and closed alarms for at least the period that you have
Closed alarms that have aged 30 days beyond the close date would be removed from this table.
As an example, if you have an alarm that closed 29 days ago you would still see it in the historical view, but as the clear happened 29 days ago, which will fall outside the 7 days that is set for 'Keep transaction history', and you would no longer see the clear for that.
