Updating compute manager id to get rid the stale VC reference from NSX

Issue/Introduction

  • Edge nodes in cluster show up and healthy in NSX but the compute manager that hosting the edge nodes may be deleted/decommissioned
  • When try to delete the edge nodes from NSX UI, it may fail with error "DELETION FAILED" due to compute manager is down

  • Edit operation will not work in NSX for the nodes due to the the non existing compute manager

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

VCenter that hosting NSX edge nodes is deleted/decommissioned before migrating the edge node under another vCenter

Resolution

Since this procedure requires DB edit, please engage Broadcom support for assistance.

Additional Information

As a best practice redeploy the edge nodes under new vCenter before decommission of vCenter where edge nodes are hosted.
