Issue/Introduction

  • Log lines similar to the below are encountered on the NSX Manager in /var/log/syslog

  • The Edge may have been deployed with a Medium, Large or X-Large form factor.
  • The number of vCPUs on the Edge was manually increased. For example, from 4 vCPUs to 8 vCPUs
  • Since the vCPU change, the memory consumption on the edge has increased leading to memory exhaustion.

Note: The preceding log excerpts are only examples. Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environment.

Manually adjusting the resources on an existing NSX Edge is not supported. To increase Edge resources please see the following KB 383091
