Issue/Introduction

On the vSphere Replication UI, under replication servers, the replication servers show in a disconnected state:

When trying to connect, there will be below error:

The object "vim.VirtualMachine vm-21" has already been deleted or has not been completely created

Environment

VMware vSphere Replication 8.X

VMware vSphere Replication 9.X

Cause

If the VM ID of the replication server VM has been changed on the vCenter server but has not been updated in the vSphere replication database, we would get this error 'The object "vim.VirtualMachine vm-21" has already been deleted or has not been completely created'.

The VM ID of the replication server VMs can be changed if we un-register and then re-register them.

Resolution

Kindly open a Broadcom support ticket with the Live Recovery product to further correct the VM ID in the vSphere Replication database and resolve the issue.
