Issue/Introduction

You have recently upgraded NSX, and AFTER NSX has been upgraded for awhile, you have an Application crash called out in the NSX UI manager.

You may see an error similar to the following:

Application on NSX node <NODENAME> has crashed. The number of core files found is #. Collect the Support Bundle including core dump files and contact VMware Support team.

There may or may not be repeated instances of this.

Environment

NSX.

Cause

The sizing requirements for the size of deployment chosen have changed between 3.x and 4.x. The upgrade does NOT resize the appliances.

 

Resolution

You can follow the documentation for resizing the NSX Manger node.

You can follow KB 383091 to resize the edge nodes, unless you are in an SDDC enivronment.

In that case follow KB 312196 for resizing an NSX-T Edge node in VMware Cloud Foundation instead.
