Issue/Introduction
- Creation of databases fails on Data Services Manager 2.2
- The user used to create the database is a member of a large number of LDAP groups, either via direct membership or ancestor groups.
- Data Services Manager logs report a webhook error, e.g.:
./provider/audit/gateway-audit.log
...webhook postgresclusters.databases.dataservices.vmware.com: Post .... ?timeout=10s failed to call webhook: ... context deadline exceeded
Environment
VMware Data Services Manager 2.2
Cause
Where a user is a member of a large number of LDAP groups, the time to validate of the user may exceed the DSM webhook call timeout.
Resolution
Upgrade to Data Services Manager version 2.2.1.
DSM 2.2.1 includes improvements in handling users which are members of a large number of LDAP groups.
