VMCA Root Signing certificate fails

Issue/Introduction

Importing created VMCA root certificate and key task hangs at the step "starting services" before printing the error message "Error while starting services, please see service-control log for more details".

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Resolution

Check the VMCA root certificate for any configuration issue in accordance to KB: Configuring the vSphere 6.0 U1b or later VMware Certificate Authority as a Subordinate Certificate Authority
