Issue/Introduction

Alarms - Changing the alert name doesn't take into effect and is sending webhook notifications with the old name

APM Alert Name - <name1> which was updated to <name2>

Renamed this alert so that it will stop auto-alerting.  Just added the notification channels that will auto-email only to the team  via the specific notify channel. However, this monitor continually auto alerts when activated.

Q1. Why the alert name for an existing open Alarm wont' change?

Q2. What is the proper way to handle alarm with old name? (Before rename)  and renamed name.

Resolution

 

A1. The alarm id is still the same before/after renaming.

A2 On all alarms page, click on alerts, then clear from alarm console.. All old_name alarms should be gone. . And new alarms should have new name after that.
