Newly power on VMs are unable to access NSX network when all NSX Managers are not available

• All NSX Managers are inaccessible from ESXi hosts
• Newly power on VMs are unable to access NSX network even vNic connected
  • "Media disconnected" is reported with command ipconfig
  • "transmit failed,General failure" is reported with command ping

 

 

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center
VMware NSX

Cause

Its expected behavior as the ESXi hosts are unable to connect to NSX controller cluster to give network ports for the VMs.

Resolution

The NSX network for the newly power on VMs will come back after NSX Managers are reachable
