Consequences of removing LDAP servers for authentication

Issue/Introduction

Legacy LDAP servers should be removed despite they are still used for authentication of some users in Nolio.

Resolution

If the remaining LDAP servers can authenticate users via the same DNs as legacy LDAP servers (maybe with a different password) then no disruption will occur: one of the the remaining servers will replace the unavailable LDAP server (the one authenticated the user before). Next time the user tries to login the new LDAP server (the last which successfully authenticated the user) will be used for authentication.

 

Additional Information

It strongly recommend to make a back up of the database right before removal of legacy servers.
