Issue/Introduction

When replacing the Automation certificate using Lifecycle Manager, it fails, and you receive an error:

Error Code: LCMVRAVACONFIG590041
Certificate validation failed on the VMware Aria Automation VA due to as the upload of certificate to the VA failed. Refer to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle logs for more details. Retry after providing a valid certificate.

Environment

VMware Aria Automation (vRA) 8.x
VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle (vRSLCM)8.x

Cause

Lifcycle Manager cannot communicate with the Aria Automation Appliance(s) because the password in the LCM locker may not be synced, or it may have expired.

Resolution

Update the Expired Automation appliance password or update the Password Locker if the password has been changed

  1. Attempt to connect to the Automation appliance(s)
If prompted, that the password has expired, update it and sync with the LCM locker as per https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/302049/remediating-passwords-updated-outside-of.html

  2. If the password was not expired and the SSH connection is successful, validate that the current password for Aria Automation is set in the locker as the current password.

  3. Trigger an inventory sync of Aria Automation to validate the connection.
Note: If it fails, it can be retried using the new password to sync it.

  4. After successful inventory sync retry the Certificate Replacement task.
