Issue/Introduction

  • You cannot create a new Paravirtual SCSI Adapter if your primary adapter is LSI Logic SaS (or other adapter type).
  • There is no out of the box properties for creating and specifying a SCSI adapter type.

Environment

VMware Aria Automation 8.x

Cause

There are no Custom Properties available to define a SCSI Adapter Type in Automation blueprints.

Resolution

This is expected behavior and follows the logic in these examples:

  • If your template VM contains a SCSI Adapter type of LSI Logic SaS, any disks added that would require a new adapter will create LSI Logic SaS Adapters.
  • If your template VM contains two adapters (LSI Logic SaS and a second Paravirtual adapter), adding a third adapter would create an LSI Logic SaS Adapter.
