Issue/Introduction

When auto numbering is enabled on the Resource ID attribute of the Resource object, the auto numbering works as expected on the Classic UI however, the auto numbering does not work on Modern UX for the same attribute

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Access the Resource object on the Classic UI and enable the Resource ID (unique_name) field for autonumbering
  2. From Classic GUI navigate to Administration >> Organization and Access >> Resources
  3. Create a resource record, it could be noted that auto numbering is generated for attribute Resource ID
  4. Navigate to the Modern UX and then to Administration >> Users
  5. Create a record under the Users workspace

Expected Results :-

The record should be created with the attribute Resource ID value generated as per the auto numbering

Actual Results :-

On the Modern UX the auto numbering does not generate for Resource ID and has to be manually entered

Environment

Clarity 16.3.1 and all valid PPM releases

Resolution

Post review by the Engineering Team this has been deemed to be working as per design

The Users workspace on the Modern UX, refers to the "User" (nmc_user) object. This is a different object than the Resource object. Hence, when the user is being created from the Modern UX, this record shall not have the auto numbering scheme as enabled.

The User (nmc_user) object's attributes presently are not configurable, hence cannot be configured for auto numbering. An enhancement request could be raised if such a feature is required.
