Issue/Introduction

When attempting to access yum.distro.carbonblack.com to download or update the product, the following error is returned by yum

OpenSSL SSL_connect: SSL_ERROR_SYSCALL

Environment

  • Carbon Black EDR Server: All Versions
  • Yum

Cause

Block in the network. 

Resolution

Check for blocks in IAP (Identity-Aware Proxy) that is controlling access to this url over port 443

Additional Information

  • yum.distro.carbonblack.com is open to all over port 443 with a valid carbonblack-alliance-client.crt/key set. An invalid certificate set will not respond with this same error message.
