Issue/Introduction

Issue/Problem/Symptoms: 

When attempting to to access USM Alarm console, the following  error is received :

 
An unknown error has occurred.
Refreshing your browser may resolve the issue.

Details:
com.firehunter.ump.exceptions.DataFactoryException : corrupt PDS: can't read index 3002 from a byte buffer of length 3000

 

Environment:  

Issues exists in 8.0-8.31 but fix was applied in 8.4

Cause: 

large sql server alarm messages causing  error in USM alarm view

Resolution/Workaround:

The resolution is to go ahead and deploy nas 8.4 to the primary server  and after deployment to the primary go ahead and deploy ump_usm_8.2.0_HF10 to the UMP server it will restart the UMP server. This should fix the issue
