Does Datacom support DS8860 DASD?

Resolution

Datacom is not hardware dependent.

Datacom development is not aware of any problems with any DASD hardware as any kind of restriction with Datacom.

If the question is about EAV device support, then the answer is that release 14.0 supports such devices and does take advantage of the cylinders above the 64K boundary. Release 12.0 will support the devices as a normal 3390 device but will not take advantage of the cylinders above the 64K boundary.

Datacom uses EXCP as the type of I/O in release 12.0 and 14.0, but only as long as the z/OS release is at least 1.13 (and this is a z/OS restriction, not Datacom).
