Issue/Introduction

Upgrading your host using an image in Update Manager fails when checking compliance if you have additional vendor or firmware addons configured.

Cause

If the addons configured are not available, then this error will be generated in the UI when the compliance check is performed.

Resolution

Ensure the addons selected are available. If they are not, remove them from the configuration and try again. If they are necessary, you will need to engage with the hardware vendor.

To remove the addon:

  1. In the vCenter UI, navigate to the cluster in question and go to the 'Updates' tab
  2. In the 'Image' section, click 'Edit'
  3. Next to the offending addon, click the 'Trash' icon
  4. Save
