SDDC Manager Precheck: Out-Of-Band Upgrade Error

Issue/Introduction

• SDDC Manager precheck fails with the following error message: "Check if out-of-band upgrade have been performed"

• One cluster is shown with hosts are on mixed versions despite the cluster being "compliant" in vCenter.

• The SDDC Manager UI displays a "hosts are on mixed versions" message in the host versions and summary views.

Environment

• VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x
• VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Cause

ESXi hosts were upgraded manually outside of SDDC Manager workflows, resulting in a version mismatch between the actual host deployment and the SDDC Manager PostgreSQL database.

Resolution

Follow the KB Synchronize inventory versions after out-of-band upgrade in a VMware Cloud Foundation Environment
