Issue/Introduction

  • Corrupt/faulty NSX Manager was detached from the Cluster.
  • VM was left running in the vCenter.
  • Deployment of new, replacement node fails with error:


Error: The specified static ip address '<IP-address>' is already in use by another machine. (Error code: 21027)

Environment

VMware NSX

VMware NSX-T Data Center

Cause

VM for NSX Manager that was detached from the Cluster is still running, hence using the IP address which is used to deploy the new NSX Manager. 

Resolution

Once the corrupt NSX Manager has been detached from the Cluster, this VM needs to be powered off, and deleted.
