Transfers delay before the data actually transfers XCOM for AS/400

Issue/Introduction

Just noticed that locally initiated transfers from our AS/400 have a delay of several seconds before the actual data is transferred. The actual data transfer does not have a delay and the remote system does not show this symptom.

Environment

XCOM™ Data Transport® for AS/400 i5/OS

Resolution

Check for any changes to your DNS server on the network. XCOM will do a NSLOOKUP for the local hosts, it will check the DNS and it may timeout before it gets locally resolved via the host table.

Verify your TCPIP configuration on your AS/400 in this case the Domain screen via option 12.
