Transfers are experiencing a delay before the data actually transfers. Why?

Issue/Introduction

Symptom:

Just noticed that locally initiated transfers from our iSeries have a delay of several seconds before the actual data is transferred. The actual data transfer does not have a delay and the remote system does not show this symptom.

Environment:

XCOM r11.0 SP01 running on iSeries 7

Resolution:

Check for any changes to your DNS server on the network. XCOM will do a NSLOOKUP for the local hosts, it will check the DNS and it may timeout before it gets locally resolved via the host table. Please verify you TCPIP configuration on your iSeries in this case the Domain screen via option 12.
