Issue/Introduction

The eTCreateDate and eTCreateTime attributes in Identity Manager are stored as numerical values that are not human-readable. This article provides a PowerShell script to decrypt and convert these attributes into a standard date and time format for reporting and auditing purposes.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5 & 15

Cause

These attributes are stored in an internal, encoded numerical format required by the Identity Manager provisioning engine. Converting them requires a script to calculate the offset and translate the values into a timestamp.

Resolution

  1. Create the Conversion Script: Create a new file named get_eT_date_time.ps1 and paste the following PowerShell code:
    Param(    [Parameter(mandatory=$true)][string] $eTCreateTime,    [Parameter(mandatory=$true)][string] $eTCreateDate)$day=$eTCreateDate.Remove(0,7).TrimStart("0")$year=1900+$eTCreateDate.Remove(7).TrimStart("0")$seconds=$eTCreateTime.TrimStart("0")/100$ts = [timespan]::fromseconds($seconds)$tod="{0:hh:mm:ss}" -f ([datetime]$ts.Ticks)write-host ([datetime]"01/01/$($year)").AddDays($day-1).ToShortDateString() " $tod"
  2. Execute the Script: Open PowerShell and run the script with the specific attribute values: powershell -file get_eT_date_time.ps1 -eTCreateTime [Value] -eTCreateDate [Value]
  3. Verify: The script will output the human-readable date and time format in the console.
