VMware SDDC Manager

Issue/Introduction

When auto-generation of passwords is selected, the UI does not provide any way to see the credentials.

Environment

VCF 5.2.1 and onwards

 

Resolution

Pre-Req:

SDDC manager is reachable and is able to login with existing credentials

Procedure

  1. Login to the SDDC Manager UI
  2. Go to the ""Developer Center"" (located in the left navigation bar)
  3. Click on ""API Explorer"" tab
  4. Look for ""Credentials"", use the search bar on right hand side
  5. Expand ""Credentials"" and select (and expand) GET /v1/credentials
  6. [Optional] Provide input of Resource Name/Type for specific credentials
  7. Click ""Execute"" button
  8. Review output in the UI to retrieve credentials
  9. [Optional] Download the ""PageofCredential"" in JSON format for offline view (click the ""Download"" button)"
