Issue/Introduction

I'm installing a DX UIM robot using the Nimbus Robot.exe executable and the install script is not asking / prompting the choice of the installation path.

The installer just skips the step where is request the user to select the installation folder.

Why is this happening?

Environment

DX UIM 23.4.*

Cause

User Error / Previous Failed attempt / presence of Nimsoft folder in the FileSystem. This issue may be caused by the fact that you have previously tried to install the robot other times, maybe cancelling out the installation duing the process.

At the "Start Copying Files" step, it mentions the path the installer is going to install the robot if hitting "Next"

Resolution

Steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Check if there is a previous bad/abandoned installation where you can see an incomplete robot folder tree in the location indicated. Eg.  C:/Program files (x86)/Nimsoft.
  2. Delete the Nimsoft Folder:  (Eg. C:/Program files (x86)/Nimsoft), close the current installation wizard and relaunch the installation again, and it will work, asking you where to install the robot.

Additional Information

Note: If the install script detects an existing correct robot running on the system, it will request to either Upgrade o Uninstall the robot. The scenario described below is when a in incomplete robot was installed previously.
