Issue/Introduction

How do I copy my CA Workload Automation CA 7 Edition Datacom database into a another instance of CA 7?

Environment

Release:
Component: 7

Resolution

Use the JCL from CAL2JCL library member AL2DBEI to do an EXPORT from the current CA 7.

//RUN      EXEC PGM=CAL2DBEI
//STEPLIB  DD DISP=SHR,DSN=prodhlq.CAL2LOAD

//         DD DISP=SHR,DSN=datacomhlq.CUSLIB

//         DD DISP=SHR,DSN=datacomhlq.CAAXLOAD

//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*

//SYSUDUMP DD SYSOUT=*

//AL2EXIM  DD DSN=user.export.file,

//            DISP=(NEW,CATLG,DELETE),

//            DCB=(RECFM=VB,LRECL=32756,BLKSIZE=32760),

//            SPACE=(CYL,(15,15),RLSE),

//            UNIT=SYSDA

//SYSIN    DD *

EXPORT=CURRENT_LOGICAL_DATABASE_NAME

//

Use the JCL from CAL2JCL library member CAL2DBEI to do an IMPORT into another CA 7.

//RUN      EXEC PGM=CAL2DBEI

//STEPLIB  DD DISP=SHR,DSN=prodhlq.CAL2LOAD

//         DD DISP=SHR,DSN=datacomhlq.CUSLIB

//         DD DISP=SHR,DSN=datacomhlq.CAAXLOAD

//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*

//SYSUDUMP DD SYSOUT=*

//AL2EXIM  DD DSN=user.export.file,DISP=SHR

//SYSIN    DD *

IMPORT=NEW_LOGICAL_DATABASE_NAME

/*

//IXXRPT   EXEC PGM=DBUTLTY

//STEPLIB  DD DISP=SHR,DSN=datacomhlq.CUSLIB

//         DD DISP=SHR,DSN=datacomhlq.CAAXLOAD

//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*

//SYSIN    DD *

 REPORT AREA=IXX,DBID=770,TYPE=G,UPDATE=YES

/*

//

CA 7 should be down to perform the EXPORT and IMPORT.

If you are only creating a fuzzy copy of this logical database, the CA 7 where the EXPORT is done does not need to be down.

On the EXPORT use

//SYSIN    DD *

EXPORT=CURRENT_LOGICAL_DATABASE_NAME

TRUSTED=N

//

On the IMPORT - this CA 7 needs to be down if importing to the same logical database name that CA 7 is active

//SYSIN    DD *

IMPORT=NEW_LOGICAL_DATABASE_NAME

ACCEPT_UNTRUSTED_FILE=Y

/*
