Error message: "No place on disk to dump data" on PSOD screen, with core dump generated

Issue/Introduction

You encountered a PSOD.

At the bottom of the PSOD screen you see a message: "No place on disk to dump data", but the dump file was correctly created.

The permissions on folder are correct 755 (root:root) and there was enough space on the partition.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.x

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x

Cause

The data is not dumped on disk.

As per the above screenshot, you can see that the data has been dumped in file successfully. 

Resolution

This message can be safely ignored.
