Open Source Telegraf Agent is not collecting all metrics from endpoints

Issue/Introduction

• Some or all metrics are not collected by the Open Source Telegraf Agent from endpoints.
• Licensing usage is shown as exceeded or expired under the License Management page.
• The following errors are observed in the APPOSUCP Adapter logs:
  ERROR [Collector worker thread 2] (1065) com.vmware.adapter3.applicationdiscovery.suiteapi.VROPsSuiteAPI.getvROpsLicenseEdition - Failed to get vROps Cluster license edition: Service Unavailable
com.vmware.ops.api.client.exceptions.ServerException: Service Unavailable
ERROR [Collector worker thread 2] (1065) com.vmware.adapter3.applicationdiscovery.AppOSAdapter.onCollect - Upgrade to Advanced or Enterprise edition to leverage Operating System or Application Monitoring License type: null

 

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

Resolution

Enterprise or Advanced edition licensing is required to leverage the Open Source Telegraf Agent and the Product Managed Telegraf agent. 

The Open Source Telegraf Agent requires licensing to cover the OSI count for the endpoints the Open Source Telegraf Agent is installed on.
