Unable to add encrypted VM to vsphere replication.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

'Unable to create base virtual disk '[DS_Name]VM_Name/VM_Name_2.vmdk' for primary virtual disk with key 2002' error. 

'License not available to perform the operation. Feature '"vSphere VM Encryption"' is not licensed with this edition' error.

 

Environment

vSphere Live Recovery 9.x

Cause

Insufficient license.

Resolution

1) Verify if all the ESXI hosts in the inventory are assigned with enterprise plus license.

2) If any hosts are found without an Enterprise Plus license, assign the appropriate license to those hosts.  Refer to the following article to assign the license Managing licenses on ESXi hosts using the vSphere Web Client

3) Power Off and Power On vSphere replication appliance.
