When exporting the list of devices from the PAM GUI, we noticed the number of devices were higher in the export than defined in the GUI. After further review we see that there were 3 devices that were duplicated. There was some history with these devices as the IP and hostnames have changed since they were first on-boarded but having these duplicated in the csv export causes additional cleanup as well as a concern for the future.
At some point in past PAM releases there was a condition where duplicate devices were able to be erroneously created under some specific conditions. After correcting the scenarios to block duplicates from being created, some fields in the database were not automatically cleaned up even though the GUI now appears corrected.
In this rare condition it will be required for a Broadcom support engineer to perform a manual cleanup through a remote SSH Debug session. Please note this document ID when opening the support ticket with Broadcom.
