Issue/Introduction

The DX UIM Operator Console (OC) 23.4.* Group Editor GUI by default prevents the deletion of groups that are container when underneath it there are other subgroups. 

In some scenario, the deletion of Parent Container Group with subgroups is allowed.

This can cause issues if Parent groups with many subgroups are deleted all at once consequently deleting many potential MCS profiles.

 

The behavior is reproduced by editing a container group (that cannot be deleted because it is parent groups of other groups) then save it without any change. After this you will have the possibility to Delete the group

 

 

Environment

DX UIM 23.4.* GA / CU1/CU2/CU3

Cause

GUI Defect. 

Resolution

This fix will be available with 23.4 CU4.

With the fix in place and there is a desire to remove a container group with child groups, the child groups have to be removed first and then the parent container group will allow for deletion:
