VMware vSphere ESXi

Issue/Introduction

Unable to power on the Virtual machine, you will see the task error message on vSphere Client as follows:

vGPU 'profile_name' failed to create MIG GPU instance.
Could not initialize plugin 'libnvidia-vgx.so' for vGPU 'profile_name'.
Module 'DevicePowerOn' power on failed.
Failed to start the virtual machine.

If using a smaller memory GPU profile, the VM can boot normally.

Environment

vSphere ESXi 7.x

vSphere ESXi 8.x

Cause

This situation is usually caused by the lack of vGPU resources, which leads to the inability to boot.

Resolution

Because using a smaller memory GPU profile, the VM can boot normally. How vGPU is allocated needs NVIDIA  to explain
