Issue/Introduction

• upgrade-coordinator upgrade progress is stuck in 60% and cannot proceed further steps.
• The version you are upgrading from is less than VMware NSX 4.2.0.
• The following APIs are no response on non-orchestrator nodes.
  GET /api/v1/upgrade/uc-upgrade-status
GET /api/v1/upgrade/functional-state

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

• The upgrade-coordinator JVM leads to a deadlock during prolonged connectivity issues to the corfu server. 
• This may happen during the upgrade-coordinator start-up process and prevents upgrade-coordinator from recovering on its own.

Resolution

• This issue is fixed in VMware NSX 4.2.0.
• The stability has been improved in VMware NSX 4.2.1, so version 4.2.1 or later versions are recommended.
• Restart upgrade-coordinator service to unblock this situation on non-orchestrator nodes as admin user.
