When performing a network file transfer of large text files (issue reported with files 1GB or greater in size), it is observed that null characters have been inserted into the contents of the files when the copy process completes.
SEP or SES clients performing network file transfers of large text files, with the Out of Band (OOB) scanning feature of IPS enabled.
This was determined to be a defect in the OOB scanning feature.
This is scheduled to be fixed in the CIDS engine update 17.0.4.62, tentatively planned for a September 2025 release. It is possible to work around the issue for now by disabling the OOB scanning feature of IPS.
