Issue/Introduction

Under certain conditions a PXPolicy will fail to complete its work, but the overall Task will show as Completed in View Submitted Tasks:

This causes confusion.   Is it possible to Fail the Task when a PXPolicy fails?

Environment

Identity Manager 14.x

Resolution

We have recently added a new Miscellaneous property to change this behavior: PxActionFailedTaskStatus

To set this, log into the Management Console, and navigate to Home › {Env_name} › Advanced Settings › Miscellaneous.

Enter a User Defined Properties setting of "PxActionFailedTaskStatus" with a value of "fail"

Click the Add button on the far right, then the Save button in the lower right.

Restart the Environment when Prompted.

Now when a PXPolicy fails the overall Task will show as failed:

Additional Information

Please note, this is an environmental wide change that will impact any Task with a PXPolicy associated with it.   If the PXPolicy fails, the entire task will fail.
